Knorr-Bremse Acquires Dutch Digital Platform TRAVIS to Expand Commercial Vehicle Services

20-10-2025

MUNICH — Knorr-Bremse AG, the German manufacturer of braking systems for trucks and trains, announced on Monday it has agreed to acquire Dutch digital services platform TRAVIS Road Services International B.V. The deal, valued in the mid-double-digit million-euro range, represents the latest step in the company's strategy to build a comprehensive aftermarket ecosystem for commercial vehicle operators.

The acquisition will see Knorr-Bremse integrate TRAVIS's online booking platform, which connects commercial vehicle operators with services including parking, cleaning, charging, and repair facilities across Europe. With more than 2,500 service partners across 26 European countries, TRAVIS provides Knorr-Bremse with an established digital infrastructure to expand its service offerings beyond traditional parts and maintenance.

Bernd Spies, member of the Knorr-Bremse AG executive board responsible for the Commercial Vehicle Systems division, stated that the acquisition marks "the next step toward a holistic and digitalized aftermarket ecosystem." He emphasized that the focus remains on improving efficiency throughout the repair and maintenance processes along the entire value chain, while creating added value for workshops, fleets, and drivers.

The transaction is expected to close by the end of the first quarter of 2026. For Knorr-Bremse, which is listed on Germany's MDAX index, the move strengthens its position in the growing digital services market for commercial vehicles, allowing the company to leverage TRAVIS's platform to develop combined service offerings that enhance operational efficiency for daily business operations.
